The Seagull is based on the BYD ePlatform 3.0 and, like the Dolphin and Seal, is driven by a front-mounted electric motor rated at 55 kW (74 hp). Customers can choose from two BYD Blade LFP battery packs, a 30 kWh pack with a CLTC range of 190 miles (305 kilometers) and a 38 kWh pack with a CLTC range of 251 miles (405 kilometers).

Both batteries feature DC fast charging, enabling the BYD Seagull to be charged to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes.

The Seagull is the entry-level electric hatchback in BYD's Ocean range, based on the ePlatform 3.0. The electric car will be equipped with either a 55 kW or 75 kW TZ180XSH motor with a top speed of 130 km/h and a CLTC range of 305 km and 405 km, respectively.Two versions of the Seagull are available:

A 55 kW (75 hp) electric motor with a 30 kWh sodium-ion battery and a range of 305 kilometers

A 75 kW (102 hp) electric motor with a 38 kWh LFP battery and a range of 405 km.

The BYD Seagull's dimensions fall between those of a city car and a subcompact sedan, measuring 148.8 inches (3,780 mm) long, 67.5 inches (1,715 mm) wide, 60.6 inches (1,540 mm) high, and with a wheelbase of 98.4 inches (2,500 mm).
